Frequently Asked Questions

01

What can I expect in my first session?

It is completely normal to feel nervous about coming to your first counseling session. The first session provides space for you to share why you’re coming to counseling, and what you hope to gain from this experience. I understand this may be uncomfortable to share, and I do my best to help you feel heard and understood.

02

What options do I have to pay for services?

I have two separate methods for paying for services that are outlined below.

First is self pay for your services, which you can do by using the Book Online feature on the website.

I currently do not accept insurance. However if you are interested in applying for reimbursement with your insurance company, I will happily provide you with a superbill or documentation of services.

Second is through my partnership with Open Path Collective.

I reserve a limited number of sliding scale slots for those individuals in need of reduced fees. There is an application process for this offer.

The Good Faith Estimate is a provision of the No Surprises Act that took effect on January, 1, 2022. Healthcare providers are federally mandated to give clients an estimate of anticipated healthcare services. The Good Faith Estimate is not a legally binding contract, but will provide clients a reasonable expectation of the cost of therapy.

03

Which states can you provide teletherapy?

I currently hold three state licenses and they are for

  • Georgia

  • Washington

  • North Dakota

  • North Carolina

Mental health licenses are state-specific because each state has its own rules and requirements for mental health professionals. This ensures that therapists are properly trained, follow ethical guidelines, and understand local laws.

04

How confidential is online therapy?

Privacy is a major concern for those seeking mental health services. It is one of my most critical obligations as a clinical social worker to ensure that privacy.

The field of cyber security has advanced tremendously in the recent years. I utilize telehealth platforms that ensure confidentiality and are HIPAA compliant. Please feel free to contact me if you have any concerns as well as explore the resources below that outline how I provide teletherapy in a secure way.
